If your vehicle runs 9.99 (6.39 1/8th mile) and quicker, then you need an NHRA License. Here are the steps to take for your license. 1. Have a vehicle that runs faster than 9.99 (1/4 mile) or 6.39 (1/8 mile) with a current chassis certification. 2. Must have proper safety equipment: A full-face helmet Snell 2000 rated and above, SFI Jacket Spec 3.2A/5 and above, SFI Pants Spec 3.2A/5 and above, SFI Gloves Spec 3.3/1 and above, and SFI Neck Collar Spec 3.3 and above. 3. Must get basic physical from your doctor. This is the only form that can be used www.nhra.com/contacts/forms/physical01.pdf4. Once physical is done then runs can be made at track. 5. A total of 6 runs are needed and can be made in one day or multiple days. 6. If final two passes will be 1/4-mile then runs must be in this order: One (1) 330' run Three (3) 660' runs Two (2) 1320' runs 7. If final two passes will be 1/8-mile then runs must be in this order: One (1) 60' run Three (3) 330' runs Two (2) 660' runs PLEASE NOTE IF FINAL TWO PASSES ARE 1/8-MILE, LICENSE IS STILL GOOD FOR 1/4-MILE.
