Pro-Comp is the 5.50 class and Pro-Gas is the 6.50 class. I think you mean:
Pro-Comp - Richard Garcia Pro-Gas - Allen Jacobs
Is Richard Garcia "Red Light" Rick from Edinburg?

isaac, why did we go away from a qualifying format for the heads up races? this is the only heads up race around where you draw cards instead of qualify. lane choice should be based on qualifying as well as points being awarded by qualifying. why did this aspect of the race change from last year?

Agree with TH on qualifying/lane choice. And if continue card draw, go to at least three lanes to draw from, 4 would be better, especially the first 2 rounds. Yea, I know, we would wind up with all but one car all in one lane.

Batman,
One of your predictions was right and another was close. Albert won Quick, Allen was the runner up in Pro-Gas (6.50 index), “Red Light” Rick lost first round of Pro-Comp because he—you guessed it—Red Lighted, and Jim could not rent the Cobalt for the Quarter-Mile Clash.
Tommy,
We did not “go away from” or change anything from last year. This is the first year we are racing Pro-Comp and Pro-Gas. Both classes are ALL RUN, which means if 9 cars sign up then all 9 race, everyone qualifies!
Dave,
Both NHRA and IHRA only use 2 lanes for all of their index classes. By using 2 lanes, a driver can avoid a family member or teammate early on as well as line up next to a driver that maybe ahead of them in points. It does increase you chances of racing/not racing someone; however, the pairing are still random.

ISAAC IN YOUR WORDS THE SAME RULES WILL APPLY AS LAST YEAR BUT WE ARE OPENING IT UP TO ALLOW MORE CARS. QUALIFYING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ALL RUN.USE QUALIFYING TO PAIR CARS UP AND GIVE LANE CHOICE.DON'T TRY TO TURN THE HEADS UP CLASSES INTO ANOTHER BRACKET CLASS.

Don't know where you have been racing, but IHRA pulls .90 classes out of 4 lanes everywhere I've been. And NHRA did 4 or 6 when I raced their races. If you can line up to avoid or to pair up with someone, then that's not random. Don't understand the resistance to pairing, it isn't that difficult, there's even computer programs now that will do that.

Tommy,
Qualifying has everything to do with all run--the race can only be one or the other. It can be a qualified field or it can be an all run field. The biggest problem I see is drivers do not understand the card system, thus they feel qualifying was better.
Dave,
I raced an IHRA National event last year and they only used two lanes to pair us. There is no resistance to pairing, we just do it in the lanes and not on a ladder. If we ever get more than 32 car entered in Pro-Comp/Pro-Gas then we will use 4 lanes.
