Quote: "The topic began as a post about the 2011 Bracket Series, then took a turn to the Banquet, followed by sarcasm, and now I am not a 100% sure what to call it."
Now you, of all people, are trying to convince us you don't like sarcasm. Pot vs kettle.
The Obamanomics about entry and payouts were more believable.

Quoted from Issac....The last Bracket Bash Double Dash had a total of 18 entries. Only 7 drivers were from the Rio Grande Valley and 3 of those drivers had gold cards. This means we only had 4 paid Valley racers, SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE FOR THE BRACKET SERIES TO SURVIVE.
We need to change something and that is communication in a positive way. And it is also due to a bad economy. We are fortunate to be able to AFFORD to race. Car count suffers from people not having the money to go in this tight economy.
Our point exactly Issac. You talked to Ed and said the things you did as I stated in previous posts. If you meant that it was because you thought the out of towners would not be able to attend banquet you should have said it that way, not the way you did. That is the problem we are trying to get across. We want it shot to us straight not rude sarcastic beat around the bush answers. All you have to do is give us a date and we will be there. We have been there every year and would continue to be there. This is important to the racers. It is a time we the racers can come together and have a good time socializing away from the track. Spend time together as the racing family that we are. Racing means a lot to us and that is why we do it.
Quoted from Issac....I realize we live in a “What have you done for me lately” society and people in general have short memories BUT How come no one mentioned all the awards given out to drivers over the years?
I am not a person who gives a crap about what other people do for me. I am a country girl who DOES STUFF FOR HERSELF. I don't need anyone doing anything for me. I do realize that the track has given out a lot in the past several years and if you look back I DO PRAISE the TRACK when you all do things good. I have spoke well of the track and given THANKS to all of you when things go great at the track. You are missing the point. It is about how things are changing and the changes are going to hurt the track. That is why we are trying to voice our opinions. We want a home track that WANTS US!!!! Do not get all defensive when we put it out there for everyone to see. If you would learn how to talk to people and not be sarcastic we might get somewhere. If you don't want people to have a bad taste in their mouth think before you speak. Not open mouth insert foot, then try and correct what you said by changing the way you said it. Yes we do expect a banquet at the end of the year not for what you can do for us but what you do for the people that keep your gates at the track open. Other than some appreciation I EXPECT NOTHING FROM YOU!!!!!!! I have stated wanting nothing from you or the track but appreciation and a Banquet that every other track has. Outside of that I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED!!!
I just hope and pray that we have a great new season no matter where that may be. Let's go racin'.

Previous posts by SugarRayena 1) Man this board is active. There are a lot of people with a lot of different ideas about this past weekend. Anyone who knows me knows I have a hard time keeping my mouth quiet. I do not like to be ugly but I do like for people to know how I feel. So here goes.
Julio that was the best turn out I have seen in our 15+ years of racing there. Things went smoothly and ran pretty quick. I was very pleased with how fast things went. You all did a very good job at keeping things moving. Kudos to the track.
2) Hey just wanted to send out a big Thank you to the track personnel for the great job they did with Track preparations this past weekend. Everything was prepared so well if there was a weak link you found it. Thank you for giving us a great facility to run at and for keeping things to run smoothly. The staff at Edinburg is greatly appreciated for all that yall do. Thanks again to each and everyone of you see you for the Big race. Looking forward to it.
There are more Issac... I don't just put the bad out there....I get no response when I post something good....but when I speak the truth when it is going bad it sure does ruffle your feathers.....don't be so defensive. Just give the racer a voice and try to stop and listen to what we have to say. After all it is our hard earned money we spend out there and we just want to feel like someone does give a crap about how we see things as well. We WANT THE TRACK TO SURVIVE!

We as racers and track operators have the same goal. A successful track who makes money and pays out to the racers some of it. without one there can't be the other. Yes the economy is not where we all would like see it. Fuel prices are high and on the rise. A true burden on the racers specially those of us whom travel a great distance. But every business needs good customers that expect good customer service or they will take their business elsewhere. That is not what we want to happen here ! I make the tow to Edinburg not because the track is the smoothest, or the pits or restrooms the nicest, It is because of the Racers who call it their home track they are my racing family that I visit at least once per mth. I do not want to lose one of them because each would me missed. There are reasons for each decision, but having some input from the racers would help, we are successful people with huge investments in the sport we love, talk to us this is not a stupid group. Ok we made it through the weekend. KUDOS to the track. They did an awesome job this weekend. The track was run very smoothly and professionally. Issac did an awesome job announcing and talking the cars up. Everything started on time and ran quickly and smoothly. I was very impressed. Thank you to all the employees they all did an awesome job. We will be back.
Our Home track is Edinburg International. We are VERY PROUD of our track and all the racers out there. We missed each and everyone of you that were not there this weekend. Y'ALL DID MISS AN AWESOME WEEKEND AT THE TRACK. We were out of there by 10p.m. and made it home by 12. Things could not have went smoother.
The caliber of racers at at this track is wonderful and it is the people that keep us coming back. Prime example of the great racers out there is the WILSON'S. They arrived at the track and saw us trying to prepare our tires that would not stick to the track they were just dead. We had been unable to find any that morning to change them out. Then when the Wilson's got there and Jarod saw what was going on he came over an offered his old set of slicks to us to use. If it were not for those slicks I would never have made it down the track. Threw the slicks on and busted out a 5:26. Thank you so much I really really appreciate it. I could not have done it without your help. This is why we love this track and are so proud to call it home. Everyone out there is great, best racing family we could ask for. Everyone out there is always willing to lend a hand or help you along the way when needed.
Thank you to our wonderful photographer. Thank you for taking the time snap all the pics for us to enjoy. It is awesome to be able to come home and see all the pics from the weekend. We do not have time to capture these memories but thanks to you we have them. Awesome job guys keep up the great work.
Several opinions were given to the track over the last several weeks. Apparently track is Management is listening. They really ran it smoothly and professionally. They made in exciting for spectators with the announcing, if a car was having problems it was explained to them what was going on by informing why it was happening. Instead of talking people down or poking fun of them he was explaining. When good cars were going to the line that do wheel stands it was you might want to get your cameras out. It made it very interesting for them and it was great. Way to go Issac HYPE it up! That's what spectators want to hear. The announcer is the one that brings on the excitement. If they are excited it brings people out to the fence to see whats going on. Spectators are needed to support the track as well. We could tell what was going on with everyone there by listening, even when we could not see the track we knew because the announcer was making it exciting for us instead of blah blah blah Super pro to the lanes. We heard get your cameras, oh .005 dead on, wheel standing wagons and a lot more it was play by play and exciting for those listening. Thats what it is about. Kudos to the announcer. Thought they hires someone new but we know the voice....NICE CHANGE ISSAC.
It's not just about us it's about OUR TRACK!!! We like our track and our racing family and we want to survive! That includes everyone there and and all of those we truly missed this weekend. Looking forward to next race.

Overall, much better last weekend. Car count was dismal, but quality was there. I was lucky. We got to improve count. Suggestions:
1. Run the Index classes first so if you loose 1st round you can enter the bracket race.
2. Change run order so you can enter both index and bracket race and have time to get back. Don't cost anything and may help the car count. Run order maybe 6.50 - 5.50 - Jrs - FB - Box- T&T???
3. Get the pictures up on website quick. Everyone likes to have links to show (brag) friends and family what they did Saturday, not what they did 2 months ago. Will help generate interest and hopefully improve attendance.
Missed you last Saturday KB

Sorry I missed the race. That was not my plan( had to work). But I heard it was a great time had by all. I wanted to hear a play by play of the track action ! It get's everyone in the racing state of mind. you hate to be the one left at home( as I was). When you see the results of the week-ends race. I look at websites all over the state the information and results of the racing action its posted quickly after the event. We race at other tracks around the state but we always research what's happening there before a trip is planed. If they do the same and research the edinburg track what do they find ? KB
